This growing community is roughly a half hour from the Twin Cities, just the right distance for a commute given all the city has to offer.
The town’s most impressive asset is the 3,500-acre Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park. The park offers a beach and picnic areas, and the chain includes seven connected lakes that are popular destinations for swimming, boating and fishing.
But Lino Lakes isn’t all lakes and sprawling fields. The city experienced 18.26 percent job growth from 2000 to 2010.
Schools are another asset. Test scores were 20.5 percent higher than the state average in math and 27.2 percent higher in reading in 2011, according to Money Magazine.
Median age is 33.6, and the air quality index—measured in the number of days ranked as “good”— is 82.0 percent.
